Background Information
Duke of Oil, established in 1988, has more than a dozen oil change centers throughout Chicagoland and more than 150 employees. In 1998, Auto Fix was established as a complete one-stop facility for automotive repair services. Today there are five Auto Fix locations adjacent to Duke of Oil locations. Together, Duke of Oil and Auto Fix offer a convenient, one-stop service center for all of your auto repair and maintenance needs.
The Challenge
In 2006, Duke of Oil and Auto Fix opened their newest and most exciting location in a newly constructed building in Northwest Indiana. Duke of Oil/Auto Fix wanted to promote the new location with a billboard campaign showcasing the new building. In conjunction with the opening of the new store, Duke of Oil/Auto Fix also wanted to inform customers of a special discounted oil-change promotion.
Artisan3's Solution
Artisan3 recommended architectural photography of the new building along with a custom-designed billboard advertising the special promotion. Artisan3 would need to work closely with Lamar Advertising, the Midwest's leading billboard company, to design a billboard according to Lamar's specifications. The quality of the photography would have to be at a high enough resolution to maintain the image quality when blown up to billboard size. Also, Artisan3 graphic designers would have to use vector-based designs, which would enable the design to be blown up to billboard size without any loss of image quality.
Final Product
Artisan3 delivered a top-notch large-format architectural photo and design to Lamar Advertising on a data DVD disc. From the Artisan3 design, Lamar created a bright and vibrant billboard print to be used in Duke of Oil's billboard campaign. The finished billboard was both eye-catching and informative. After installation was complete, the billboard began drawing new customers into the new Duke of Oil/Auto Fix location every day.
